OUR COMMITMENT

We follow international and certified standards, including ISO 14001, 9001 and 45001, in order to ensure not only the quality of our products, but also a controlled environmental impact and safe workplaces. We believe in the value of people and promote inclusion and gender equality by pursuing tangible actions recognized by UNI/PdR 125 certification.

Ours is a sincere and transparent narrative, accessible from the Sustainability Report, drafted and published annually.
Sustainability is therefore an ongoing, verifiable and shared commitment for us.

STANDARDS OF OUR CHAIN

The selection of our suppliers is careful and responsible and follows procedures that ensure transparency, impartiality and fairness at every stage. We ensure compliance with these principles through regular manufacturing, ethical and environmental audits, which verify adherence to rigorous quality and sustainability standards. Our choices favor certified companies that demonstrate a concrete commitment to workers' rights, occupational safety and environmental protection. A central element of our approach is the Supplier Code of Conduct, which all first- and second-tier partners are required to sign. This document clearly defines expectations regarding social responsibility, occupational health and safety, environmental protection, and compliance with the regulations and ethical principles that guide our business. Through this code, we ensure that we share our values and maintain high ethical and environmental standards throughout our supply chain. In addition, our organization is structured according to ISO 9001, which guides us in the pursuit of continuous improvement in business performance.

OUR PACKAGING

Borbonese uses paper shopping bags, boxes and tags made from FSC-certified
paper, confirming the responsible origin of the raw materials used. Dust bags are made from BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) or GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified raw materials.
In order to pursue a project of responsible upgrading and evolution, introduced years ago, the company has significantly reduced the use of plastic, with the exception of the outer polybag - made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyethylene, GRS certified.
Even the filler material used in the shipping cartons of the bags, known as “bubble wrap,” contains at least 50 percent recycled plastic. In contrast, the adhesive tape used in the packaging features plant-based adhesive. These choices reflect Borbonese's commitment to continuously improve the materials used in the packaging and logistics department, with the aim of optimizing packaging while maintaining high standards of quality and service.

Environmental labeling

QUALITY, CONTROL AND SAFETY

We are committed to high quality standards at every stage, from the selection of materials to the production of finished products.
Through rigorous performance and eco-toxicological controls, carried out in accordance with European and international regulations, such as the REACH Regulation, we ensure that the materials used meet legal requirements.
When purchasing leather, we work with tanneries that are Leather Working Group (LWG) certified. This certification attests that the production processes, from tanning to dyeing to finishing, meet strict standards of environmental sustainability, quality and transparency.
The careful selection of suppliers allows us to use reliable materials from certified sources that comply with high requirements, while enhancing Italian craftsmanship excellence.

THE RECYCLED FABRIC

The OP-print fabric, iconic to the Brand and beloved by our customers, is made from recycled materials through processes that ensure quality and attention to resources. Made from recycled polyester (100.0% Recycled post-consumer Polyester-GRS CERTIFICATE), it is now the main material in many of our collections. Through the use of reclaimed materials, we support a circular economy model that reduces the use of virgin resources and limits the environmental impact associated with textile production.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION

Borbonese actively promotes respect for human rights and guarantees equal opportunities for all people, right from the selection process. The company's commitment against all forms of discrimination is translated into structured practices and policies, inspired by the principles of ISO 30415 on inclusive human resources management. Valuing diversity means for us recognizing its potential as a lever for growth, innovation and cohesion. That is why we support the professional development of our people, promoting parenthood and worklife balance.
The company has established a Steering Committee dedicated to overseeing the effective implementation of DE&I and gender equality policies, consistent also with UNI/PdR 125 certification. In support, a confidential reporting channel is in place to collect and manage any incidents of discrimination, harassment or abuse, reinforcing a work environment based on respect and safety.
Inclusion is not an abstract goal for us, but a daily value that guides our choices.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

To ensure the protection of the health and safety of its workers and external collaborators, we have adopted an organizational system that complies with the standards of ISO 45001. This choice enables us to prevent risks, promote a culture of safety, and protect the well-being of all the people who work with us, from employees to external collaborators. We believe in the value of training, listening and active participation: every person in Borbonese is involved, empowered and supported with specific training paths, prevention tools and moments of confrontation. All work environments are regularly audited, with the support of qualified figures and structured processes of continuous improvement.
We are also attentive to the safety of our partners and suppliers, with whom we share rigorous standards, transparent procedures and a common vision: to ensure a safe working environment.

SOLIDAL COMMITMENT

Borbonese has been supporting social projects both locally and internationally for years, contributing with product donations, fundraisers and special initiatives. We support realities that work with transparency and concrete impact in improving the living conditions of people and communities in fragile situations. Among the organizations and initiatives with which we have collaborated are Fondazione ANT, Istituto Europeo di Oncologia, Centro Cardiologico Monzino, UNICEF, Save the Children, Convivio Milano, BZR - Same but Different, as well as Progetto Quid, an Italian reality that promotes the labor inclusion of people-particularly women-with a history of fragility or marginality.

GENDER EQUALITY AND WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

Borbonese has chosen to structure its commitment to gender equality by adopting the UNI/PdR 125 Reference Practice, a voluntary standard that provides concrete tools to reduce the gender gap at the company level.
This system allows us to continuously monitor and improve key indicators related to equity in growth opportunities, compensation, access to decision-making roles, work-life balance, and parenting. We promote a corporate culture that values talent without distinction, and support policies that make the work environment more equitable, inclusive, and capable of recognizing the contributions of all people, starting with women. Our communication activities are also based on awareness and commitment to providing increasing support for women, both within the company and to the external community.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Borbonese is ISO 14001 certified, reflecting our concrete commitment to managing and minimizing the environmental impacts of our activities. Through a structured environmental management system, we constantly monitor resource consumption and promote energy efficiency within our organization.
We are committed to reducing the use of natural resources and progressively increasing the use of energy from renewable sources, integrating these choices into our operating model and supply chain. ISO 14001 certification guides us in the continuous improvement of our environmental performance through procedures and controls that ensure the responsible and transparent management of environmental aspects related to our business.

WASTE MANAGEMENT AND CIRCULARITY

Borbonese manages waste from its activities in full compliance with current environmental regulations. Within production processes, we adopt procedures aimed at reducing the amount of waste and enhancing the value of residual materials through upcycling practices, with the aim of limiting the use of virgin resources and promoting an increasingly circular production model.
The company adheres to local separate waste collection systems and maintains up-to-date waste management procedures in line with ISO 14001 certification and other relevant standards. Through constant monitoring and periodic reviews, Borbonese ensures compliance with regulatory obligations and pursues continuous improvement in its environmental performance. In addition, we continue to explore new opportunities to further reduce waste production and enhance through design creativity residual materials, with a commitment to develop solutions that strengthen the sustainability and circularity of our production model.

Borbonese represents the excellence of craftsmanship. The preservation of artisanal techniques and the enhancement of ancient skills and crafts are a value and source of pride for us, but which we combine today with creativity and conscious innovation. This approach allows us to offer unique, quality products made with passion and attention to detail. Case in point, the Nido Bag, a line that has been a continuation of our collections for several seasons that combines the skilled craftsmanship of hand weaving with recycled fabric through modern design.

In 2019 we launched Officina Borbonese, a project born from the collaboration with some of the most prestigious international fashion schools, with the aim of involving young creatives in the reinterpretation of our heritage. Through dialogue with male and female students from academic realities of excellence - including RCS Academy Milano, Politecnico di Milano, Parsons (Paris and New York), Istituto Marangoni, Accademia Costume & Moda and NABA - we cultivate a laboratory of ideas capable of connecting tradition and contemporaneity.
Officina Borbonese is a space for training and experimentation, where emerging talents can confront themselves with the world of work and contribute with new languages to the continuous evolution of the Maison.
